Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera Moves Up All-Time RBI List on Friday
USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera just keeps re-writing the history books.

Already a member of the 500-home run club and the 3,000 hit club, Cabrera moved up all the time RBI list early on Friday.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Miguel Cabrera's 1st inning RBI double gives him 1,868 RBI, tying Mel Ott for 11th on all-time list.

The Tigers beat the Guardians, 4-2, in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Progressive Field. Cabrera went 1-for-4 with the double and is now hitting .255 this year.

Cabrera is not having a great final year in Major League Baseball, but he is running into milestones and accolades like this, which certainly are something to celebrate. One of the best hitters of all-time, he's hitting .255 this year with two home runs and 21 RBI. Lifetime, he's a .307 hitter with 509 home runs and the 1,868 RBI. He's been relegated to a part-time role.

In his 21st year in the big leagues with the Tigers and Marlins, he's a 12-time All-Star, a seven-time Silver Slugger, a four-time batting champion, a two-time MVP, and a Triple Crown winner. He also helped the 2003 Marlins win the World Series.

The Tigers are currently 55-66 and in third place in the American League Central. They are just 7.5 games out of first place in the division and continue to have an outside shot at the playoffs.

After finishing Game 2 of the doubleheader, the Tigers will play the Guardians on Saturday night.

First pitch is 7:10 p.m. ET.
